Mr. Taylor is an intellectual property attorney with over twenty years of experience in private practice representing a diverse range of clients in patent and trademark matters.  He is admitted to practice before the Maryland and District of Columbia bars, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and has been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office since 1994. 

Mr. Taylor’s practice focuses primarily on patent and trademark litigation, patent and trademark  prosecution, and client counseling.  His accomplishments include/have included:  assisting a United States District Court Special Master in conducting Markman hearings, preparing claim construction reports, and briefing decisions relating to discovery disputes and pre-trial motions; preparing and responding to pleadings, motions, Markman briefings, and written discovery; conducting depositions; overseeing experts and expert report preparation; briefing appeals to U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; practicing before USPTO, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, arguing appeals, and ex parte reexamination practice; providing opinions relating to infringement, validity, patentability, licensing, and related patent issues; and trademark cancellation and opposition practice.

Among the technologies Mr. Taylor has litigated and/or prosecuted are vehicle transmissions, building industry products, LED light strings, medical devices, semiconductor devices, Internet-driven solutions, nano-technology, nutritional supplements, polymers, rocket propulsion systems, explosives, agricultural equipment, optical fiber production, compact discs, and electrochemical devices and processes.

Prior to joining Berenato & White in 2003, Mr. Taylor was an attorney at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro in Washington, D.C. and the Sullivan Law Group based in Phoenix Arizona.  Mr. Taylor received his Juris Doctorate from The National Law Center of George Washington University in 1993, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1990.
